Raindrops in Reverse is a very special EP that has 3 different tracks each recorded during a different year and storm. Part I was recorded while I was living in Fresno during an odd storm that took place in 2016. I remember lots of lightning and thunder throughout the day, and then around 4/5:00PM (when this was recorded) the sun started peaking through the lightning clouds.
Part II & III were both recorded two years later, in 2018. I was living with my family in Granada Hills during college and recorded each track between classes. I remember recording these by placing my laptop and interface close to the front door and stepped onto the front porch with an SM58 to capture the sound of drops of water hitting surrounding leaves and puddles.
The full EP is best listened to with headphones on. You can even splash your face with cold water for a more experiential effect!
Magnetic, minimalist post-punk with wormy synthesizers and cracking drum machines gives the genre some much needed rattle and shake. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 7, 2023
